Logan's "Cache Valley's" Full of Fun

By Gary Gaz & Cathy Nuesmeyer

When you think of a car show not only do you think about chrome, leather and grease, you think about horsepower… oh wait not the four-legged kind but Memphis and Ty were passing through the grounds and we could not resist. After all, this is Logan, Utah and Cache Valley is one of the best places for a fun event like this, where the focus is on fun! The show just keeps improving and the 2018 version was no exception. There were a variety of cars, trucks, "steampunk" vehicles and the chance, if you stayed until the end of the show on the final day, to win a restored car. There is a new vehicle every year and they are restored to turn-key running condition by various members of the Cache Valley Cruise-In Association. This year it was a '67 Chevy Nova II and it was definitely a black beauty! Austin, from Ogden, Utah was the happy (and lucky) winner.

This event is held at the Logan-Cache Fairgrounds. There were all kinds of cars, trucks, motorcycles and some other "things" to catch your eye and ears.

The Cruise-In starts on Thursday prior to the first Saturday of July ending on that Saturday night with a street parade in Logan. Many of the locals come out to view the sights and sounds and enjoy watching the cars proceed up and down the "main drag". It is a well-attended event and locals enjoy the visitors and seeing the "new" cars that come each year.
