Bickleton, WA - Have Your Pie & Eat It Too!
By Brian Curtis
Creek Pioneer Carousel Museum and co-sponsored by the Central Washington Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club was held under brilliant sunny skies on Sept. 2nd, 2017. Registered cars were fewer this year probably because the area valleys were smoke filled from forest fires surrounding central Washington, Oregon and Montana. The good thing was the location of Bickleton, 3004 ft. above sea level was clear.
Another sad part of the day was two accidents involving deer, one coming to the show, the second on the way down the mountain. No personal injuries but two badly damaged cars.
Highlighting the day is the pies that are baked and sold. For two consecutive years years I have enjoyed the cherry pie with ice cream and coffee for a measley $4.00 - can you believe it? Several hearty souls went back for seconds! That's worth the trip!
