What a summer it was! The Elites were blessed with sunny skies and lots of friendly car folk who enjoyed a relaxing camping, dancing, hog roasting, salmon-eating, trophy-filled car show weekend.
The Deming Log Show Grounds was again the location for the 37th Summer Fun Rod Run put on by the 4th Corner Elites Car Club of Bellingham, August 25-27, 2017. It is in a sunny clearing surrounded by forest, near the Nooksack River just 12 miles east of Bellingham... A perfect country location to spend a weekend or even just an afternoon.
The event is now two-fold. A 3-day Camping-Carshow Weekend AND a 1-day Show and Shine. Rodders and their families pulled in Friday and set up their campsites. They were invited to partake in the pork that was being roasted, with donations going to Project Santa Claus, then an Ice Cream Social; followed by music and dancing ( thank you to Jerry McClellan for the band ). The Saturday 1-Day event, people brought in even more real beauties to fill the field. There was a delicious Salmon BBQ Saturday, raffles, a cruise to town, good fellowship, lots of trophies and more, all for the purpose of enjoying collector cars and raising some funds for Project Santa Claus and student scholarships.
The 2018 Event will be held August 24 - 26 for the 3-day show and on August 25 for the 1-Day show. The grounds are open to the public for viewing of the cars on Saturday only. See their website:FourthCornerElitesCarClub.com for more info... or find them on Facebook.
