Eagles Club "Show & Shine" Soars Over Yakima
Yakima, WA - Sunshine, blue skies and temperatures in the upper eighties helped make the Yakima Eagles Car Show a resounding success. Ocean Shores... And a Mighty Wind Did Blow
Almost everybody at High Rollin' Hot Rods reported hitting heavy rain on the way to Ocean Shores, some at Montesano, others, like us, at Hoquiam. When we arrived at the Quinault Beach Casino on April 27, 2019, we were admiring the bright sunlight and congratulating ourselves for beating the rain - until we opened the car door! We were immediately assailed by a Mighty Wind (sound like a good movie title) that pretty much continued for the remainder of the show. The Lynnwood Washington Convention Center, once again, was the site of the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame's Awards Banquet on September 28, 2019. Seven new members were inducted, six scholarships were awarded to students of Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWIT) and over $8,300 was raised for charity, Life Experience Opportunities of Issaquah. 2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics
Mount Vernon, Washington-The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) was held August 4, 2018. It is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. Known honorably as Guardians of the Flame® - law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions, and into Special Olympics State, Provincial, National, Regional and World Games.
