NCSRA's 18TH Berry Cool Car Show
A Berry Cool Happening
By Jim and Laura Scharf
This year celebrated the 81st Annual Berry Days and the 18th Annual Berry Cool Car Show on Father's Day, June 17, 2018, in Burlington. This is the fourth year that the North Cascade Street Rod Association member and past president, Reed Harlow organized the event. The show was founded by Les Tokarchuk and Garnor Bensen in the year 2000. The show awards trophies to three places in each class along with special sponsor trophies handpicked the day of the show. Lots of prizes donated by the sponsors are awarded in the raffle. Proceeds from the show pay for tuition and books for two students to attend the Skagit Valley College Auto Technology Program. They usually average 150 cars, but this year had 167 entries. Billy's Café set an all-time record for food sales during the show this year.
